Biography

From the moment you lay eyes on the works of Georgios Kanelakis, you immediately notice his color sensitivity and dominance of light.
This is an inevitable influence on his artistic style, as he had the fortune to apprentice under the well-known painter, Vasilis Kolokythas, renowned both nationally and internationally.
His themes, drawn from everyday life, narrate our lives in taverns, neighbourhoods, and alleys.

The sea, flowers, and nature are presented with special sensitivity to their aesthetic enjoyment of colors.
With his athletic work “high jump,” he participated in events throughout Greece, representing the “Kostis Palamas” Patras Fine Arts Association. He also participated with his works in the bilingual publication of the book-album for the promotion of Costis Palamas’ Olympic Hymn as World Cultural Heritage, titled “OLYMPISM-OLYMPIC HYMN-COSTIS PALAMAS.”
