Bouka of Thasos – Vassilis Kolokithas

Born and residing in Patras, he took his first painting lessons in the workshop of the Thessaloniki-based painter Dimitris Vergidis.

There he met Keita Loutsa and Thanasis Karamytas.

However, the artist who truly defined the tone and deep aesthetic character of his visual art—imbuing it with a sense of light enriched by Greek countryside, tradition, and spirit—was Georgios Kouzounis.

His works are characterized by a rich sense of joy, filled with the brightness of Greek light, while also carrying a strong ethnographic quality, reminiscent of modern Greek prose.

Thus, Vasilis Kolokythas has since followed an expressionist outdoor painting style.

He is nationally recognized through his exhibitions, and his works are included in major private collections of Greek and international collectors.

He holds a degree in Physical Education from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.

Vasilis impresses with the dynamic power of his use of color, leaving a strong personal imprint on art. This uniqueness makes him highly sought after by major art institutions, and renders his work distinctive and in demand.

The magic of his colors leaves even the most demanding collector in awe.

He is one of the founding members of the Fine Arts Association of Patras “Kostis Palamas”, and remains actively present in its artistic events.
