Impressive Visual Arts Exhibition of the Art Workshop at Gallery “ODEIO”
Dedicated with love and responsibility to World Environment Day
With great success and a large attendance of art lovers and artists, the opening of the Art Workshop exhibition took place yesterday, June 20, 2025, in the distinguished art hall “Gallery Odeio” (Germanou 30) at the Cultural and Olympic Center “Kostis Palamas”. The exhibition marks the annual completion of the educational courses in Visual Arts and Iconography by both children and adult artists of the Association of Fine Arts of Patras “Kostis Palamas”.
The exhibition will remain open until June 28, 2025, allowing the public to admire the artworks.
The special dedication to World Environment Day highlights the organizers’ sensitivity and commitment to promoting, through artistic expression, awareness of the urgent global issue of environmental protection.
A greeting on environmental matters was delivered by the Coordinator of Cultural Associations, Professor Athanasios Vasilopoulos, scientific collaborator of both the Association of Fine Arts “Kostis Palamas” and Gallery Odeio of the Cultural and Olympic Center “Kostis Palamas”.
The exhibition represents a year of creative work in visual arts, cultivating mind, senses, and inner peace. Visitors admired the works of the workshop artists, which reflect the foundations of artistic development in a warm and family-like environment, under the guidance of distinguished fine arts instructors Argyro Kyriakopoulou (iconography), Michalis Raptis, and Niki Mavrothalassiti (painting), under the supervision of artist and President of the Cultural and Olympic Center, Georgia Yachou.
Audiovisual lecture:
The co-founder of Gallery Odeio and President of the Association of Fine Arts of Patras, artist, writer, and psychology professor Theodoros Mallias, presented a lecture on:
a) The psychological benefits of participating in visual arts creation
b) Cultural, artistic, and Olympic activities of the Cultural Center and the Association of Fine Arts “Kostis Palamas”
c) Recent events in Greek diaspora communities and university departments in the USA (New Jersey, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles) and Canada (Montreal), which created excellent impressions and important prospects for Hellenism worldwide.
During the event, two commemorative volumes by Theodoros Mallias titled “The Artists Create Culture” were raffled and offered as gifts.
This initiative honors every cultural and artistic institution that promotes art and, at the same time, raises awareness of our shared responsibility to protect and preserve our environmental heritage.
Warm congratulations and best wishes to such initiatives, which express voices of concern and responsibility and stand as deeply humanistic and social acts.
